MAPPA releases the preview for the first "Chainsaw Man" episode and sparks a fan debate on this detail.

The much-awaited preview for "Chainsaw Man" marks a new contender for the series of releases this Fall 2022 anime season. The manga is written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who is known for Shōnen titles like Fire Punch. The possibility of an anime adaptation was first teased in a tweet back in 2021, when the official "Chainsaw Man" Twitter account tweeted a link to MAPPA's 10th anniversary event website.

A year later, the hype continues to build up as MAPPA finally releases the first preview of the "Chainsaw Man" first episode, titled "Dog and Chainsaw", which has already garnered 2.5 million views within the first six hours of its official Twitter upload.

What to Expect for 'Chainsaw Man'

The first episode preview keeps spoilers to a minimum, but showcases the main character Denji, alongside his devil buddy Pochita, and the mysterious female lead, Makima.

Based on the manga, the first episode will introduce Denji's past and the unfortunate events that will lead him to make a pact with the "Chainsaw devil", Pochita. The preview also gives a first look at the gory action scenes which "Chainsaw Man" is renowned for. Additionally, MAPPA also released the full trailer of the first season of the anime adaptation.

Nothing short of the gorgeous animation that MAPPA is known for, the studio won the "Anime of the Year Award" for "Jujutsu Kaisen" during the fifth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards and "Anime of the Year 2022" for "Attack on Titan Final Season Part 1" for this year's Crunchyroll Anime Awards, among other numerous animation accolades.

Fans Complain About MAPPA's CGI?

Despite the ongoing hype for the first episode preview, anime fans took to Twitter to express their complaints about the use of CGI for "Chainsaw Man"s action scenes.

Meanwhile, some fans spark debate on the incorporation of CGI and defend MAPPA for their animation decision. The studio has been known to animate major action scenes using CGI in their previous animes like "Attack on Titan Final Season".

Soon, fans will be able to watch the first episode in its entirety as Tatsuki Fujimoto's legendary manga is slated to debut its anime adaptation on October 11th, which will be available to stream on Crunchyroll in the United States. "Chainsaw Man" will be releasing its first episode amidst the returning seasons of My Hero Academia, Spy X Family, Mob Psycho 100 III, and more anime this fall.
