Alonzo Mourning personally supported Dikembe Mutombo amid his brain tumor battle.

The NBA community has been offering prayers and well wishes to Mutombo after the confirmation regarding his health issue. Amid the overwhelming support from the fans, his fellow Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning visited him while he underwent treatment in a hospital.

On his Instagram page, the Hall of Famer shared a photo of him with Mutombo as they smiled together while inside the medical facility. He also let fans know in the caption that his fellow NBA legend is doing well.

"Thanking God this morning! My brotha is on the mend and in good spirits!!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Prayer is truly uplifting," he wrote.

Mourning and Mutombo maintain their friendship even after their respective retirements. They played college basketball at Georgetown for three years, from 1988 to 1991. They also scored the chance to play together for New Jersey Nets.

Fans and other colleagues also continue to offer prayers to Mutombo amid his health battle and let him know he is not alone in this battle.

Dikembe Mutombo's Brain Tumor Diagnosis Explored

NBA first confirmed the news about Mutombo's health condition but disclosed that he was already receiving treatment for it. It did not disclose what kind of tumor the NBA star has, but Johns Hopkins Medicine's official website explains that not all brain tumors are malignant.

But people diagnosed with it suffer symptoms like headaches, nausea, drowsiness, vision/speech issues, mental changes, and seizures, to name a few.

Mutombo has been dedicating himself to his charitable and humanitarian works through the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation, which he launched in 1997. Through the foundation, he extends his help to people in Congo and gives them access to health and education.

He currently stands second in the list of NBA players with the highest career blocks in history and 17th place in rebounds, with 12,359 points.

The basketball superstar spent his career days in 18 NBA seasons alongside different teams, like New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Houston Rockets.

He retired after playing in the 2008-2009 season.
