Meghan Markle named two individuals who allegedly made comments on Archie's skin color, but the palace disputed, saying there was only one, according to a new report.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex mentioned in their interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that a royal family member commented on how dark the complexion of their unborn child would be. Omid Scobie claimed in his new book "Endgame: Inside the Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival" that Markle named two, prompting the palace to react.

"It was only one person, never two," the palace told Page Six.

In Scobie's book, he mentioned Markle's correspondence to King Charles III after the alleged incident. The former "Suits" star reportedly named two people involved in the "conversations." However, he didn't mention the names, citing the laws of the United Kingdom that "prevent [him] from reporting who they were." Thus, it's unclear if the second person is a member of the royal family or just someone who works for them. However, he hinted that they are part of the royal household.

Prince Harry and Markle first opened up about the alleged "racist" comment in their interview with Winfrey.

"All around this same time - we have in tandem the conversation of, 'He won't be given security, he's not going to be given a title,' and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born," Markle said.

"About how dark your baby is going to be?" the host asked. Markle responded, "Potentially, and what that would mean or look like."

Prince Harry, 39, did not elaborate on the issue. However, he later said the person was neither his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip.

The statement sparked racist allegations against the royal family, prompting Prince William to defend the royals, saying they were "very much not a racist family."

There were rumors that Prince Harry's stepmother, Queen Camilla, made the racist comment. British journalist and investigative reporter Tom Bower claimed in his book "Revenge" that King Charles' wife once joked about how the Sussexes' future kids would have "ginger Afro hair."

However, Los Angeles-based royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said on GB News it wasn't true since anonymous sources reached out to them denying Camilla was the alleged royal racist. She also slammed Prince Harry and Markle for creating an "unfair witch-hunt" who the person was for not dropping a name.

"They did not necessarily deny that comment, but they say that she is not racist and she is not the person Harry and Megan were talking about during the Oprah interview, which just leads me to repeat how unfair this witch hunt has been going on ever since that interview," Schofield said.
