Ed Sheeran has sparked speculation among fans that he has re-recorded his collaboration with Taylor Swift for "Reputation (Taylor's Version)."

On Monday, the Grammy-winning artist shared a rare image on Instagram featuring Meredith Grey, one of Swift's cats, in what seems to be a cozy moment.

In the Instagram photo carousel captioned "Dumpington #3," Sheeran, clad in a white tee, can be seen cuddling with Meredith on an ottoman.

Fans, thrilled by the sight of Meredith, speculated that this interaction might signal Sheeran's involvement in the re-recording of Swift's "Reputation," particularly their song "End Game."

The singer-songwriter did not explicitly confirm his participation in the re-recording, but the Instagram post fueled excitement and anticipation among fans.

"'End Game feat. Ed Sheeran (Taylor's Version)' is recorded [I] know it. Don't lie Ed, we know it," one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "you worked with Tay."

"'Endgame ft. Ed Sheeran (Taylor´s Version)' is on the way!" a second user suggested.

Another wrote, "'END GAME (TAYLOR'S VERSION)' WE CHEERED."

The track, which was released in 2017, also features rapper Future.

In August, Sheeran addressed the rumors surrounding "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" during an episode of Andy Cohen's "Deep & Shallow Podcast."

He clarified that he had not yet recorded a new version of "End Game" at the time but said that "1989 (Taylor's Version)" would be the next release in Swift's re-recording series.

"1989 (Taylor's Version)" was released on Oct. 27, exactly nine years after the original version came out.

Swift is re-recording the first six albums of her career after those master recordings were sold to Scooter Braun in 2019 against her wishes.

In addition to "1989," Swift released re-recorded versions of 2008's "Fearless," 2010's "Speak Now" and 2012's "Red," with only 2017's "Reputation" and her 2006 self-titled debut left to announce.

While Swift has not yet officially announced it, some of her fans believe "Reputation" is the next re-record to drop.

Swift, in her interview for Time's 2023 Person of the Year issue, teased the overarching theme of "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" as a "goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure."

She also hinted at the quality of the vault tracks, describing them as "fire."
