Former Joan of Arcadia actress Amber Tamblyn will join the cast of CBS' Two and a Half Men.

She has been casted as Jenny Harper. the illegitimate lesbian daughter of Chalie Harper who used to be played by Charlie Sheen, Us Weekly reported Aug. 8.

Thirty-year-old Tamblyn will reportedly have a recurring role for at least five episodes during the eleventh season of the half-hour sitcom, but will have the option to become a regular on the comedy series if she becomes a fan favorite.

The character will show up at Ashton Kutcher's Walden Schmidt and Jon Cryer's Alan Harper's house looking for her father. Producers are planning to have her move into the house, filling the void of Angus T. Jone's character, Jake Harper.

Some were curious as to why the creators decided to add a woman as a main character to the show.

Creator Chuck Lorre reportedly explained to reporters at the Television Critics Association last month, "I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective...The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."

"Part of the fun in this has been creating a character that is equal to the task of stepping on the stage with Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. That's a big job," Lorre added. "The idea of the character brings a healthy amount of decadence, which is always fun on Two and a Half Men."
