Former Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is eying a return to TV with a new drama.

The untitled program reportedly deals with CIA hotspots and features a strong female lead (Heigl) as an adviser to the president, according to Deadline.

Heigl left Grey's Anatomy in 2010 after being on the successful ABC show since it's inception in 2005. Following a stint of movie roles (Killers, New Year's Eve), the 34-year-old actress is looking to forge ahead in the television world once more, reports the USA Today.

Her potential new program comes form the creative mind of Alexi Hawley. With credits including Body of Proof and Castle, Hawley's specialty seems to be crime dramas that have a humorous twist. With this in mind, it can be presumed that the new program will follow much the same pattern as the scribe's previous work.

Citing Heigl, Hawley, Robert Simonds (This Means War), Julia Franz (Men at Work) and Heigl's mother Nancy as producers, Deadline states that no networks have yet picked up the show.

Heigl's former credits includes two long running TV roles as Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy and Isabel Evans on Roswell as well as several movie credits including 27 Dresses, Knocked Up, and the upcoming North of Hell.
