Netizens React To Young Thug, Mariah The Scientist's Leaked Jail Phone Call

The hip-hop community shared mixed reactions after a jail phone call between Young Thug and his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist leaked.

A one-minute conversation between the lovers leaked on social media. It presumably occurred last month as Mariah could be heard greeting her boyfriend "Merry Christmas." The couple also discussed the recent gifts Thug bought for Mariah, but the nature of their discussion made many uncomfortable, especially since the call was cut when Mariah asked Thug, "Daddy, am I your baby?"

The conversation received mixed responses, with some feeling it was too private. However, others accused Mariah of using Thug for money because she talked a lot about the presents he bought for her.

"Felt like I was invading, bruh," one commented with a face with tears of joy emoji. Another added, "Feels like I'm intruding," with multiple crying emojis.

"Privacy shouldn't be leaked, the person who leaked the video should join Young Thug in jail," a third person opined.

"We aren't supposed to see this. However, it is quite the entertainment," a different user stated.

"Imagine Fighting for your life .... Knowing [you] might not see the outside again... have to take showers with men ... only get one visit a week and have to deal with this ... smh females are selfish didn't even ask how his week was," one person said.

"She's obviously using young thug for money, sad," a different user alleged.

However, many also stood by Mariah's side. They praised her for staying with Thug despite his legal battles.

"She really loves him," one said. Another wrote, "Make me wanna cry."

"[S]he's the definition of ride or die, [I] just want what they go," another added.

Thug was arrested on gang-related RICO charges in May 2022. Last year, Mariah gave an update about their relationship, saying his predicament had made their bond stronger.

"I think in the beginning I was so sensitive about it. I was so emotional, I was crying all the time," she said during a guest appearance on the "Way Up With Angela Yee" podcast. "It was like you can't be crying when you got a man in jail because it's going to make him sad. So you can't be acting like that."

She continued, "It's almost like jail solidified our relationship. I'm willing to wait it out because I feel like he's the one. If I didn't really see that in him, I probably wouldn't."
