The official trailer for Homeland season 3 was released on Friday by Showtime.

The three-minute trailer, set to the song To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra, features numerous scenes from the upcoming season. The trailer begins with one of the final scenes of the season 2 finale: Brody (Damian Lewis) said goodbye to Carrie (Claire Danes) before going off the grid because he was framed for the bombing at Langley, VA.

Carrie, Quinn (Rupert Friend), Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Brody's families are then shown in mourning, probably because of the Langley bombing and Brody's departure.

Near the middle of the trailer, Carrie and Saul testify at the hearing for the Langley bombing: their right hands raised, they swear to "tell nothing but the truth." The clip then cuts to a scene of Quinn loading a gun near an explosion.

In the next scene, an unidentified man awakens with a bandage over an apparent bullet wound in his back. It is revealed that this man is Brody, who is now completely bald. He seems to be located in a Middle Eastern country.

At the tail end of the trailer, Dana (Morgan Saylor) sheds her clothing and takes a picture of herself with a determined look on her face. She is later seen rolling out a rug and then kneels on it to pray, much like her father did earlier in the series.

Carrie is later seen in a hospital gown in the closing moments of the trailer, and Saul rests his hand on her shoulder and grimly says, "I am so sorry."
