Coulson lives in the first live action series from Marvel, but who else will be making the jump from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the television screen?

The upcoming Marvel's Agents of SHIELD creates a new segment of Marvel cannon, creating a main cast of unprecedented characters that have no basis in the world of comic books. While Joss Whedon has repeatedly stated that ABC program will focus on the human elements of the superhero world, fans are still hoping for a few high-powered crossover characters.

One apperence that has been positively confirmed is that of Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill. Featured in last year's The Avengers, Smulders will appear in the show's pilot. While the actress is tied up filming the last season of CBS's How I Met Your Mother, it is unknown how much further her SHIELD role will extend.

"I'm up for it, it's just a matter of the direction that they decide to go with the show," Smulders said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't know how much they'll be at the Command Center and how much they need me around. If it works out organically with the story line, then I'd be happy to come in but I truly don't know."

Since everyone's favorite Asgardian trickster will not be appearing in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) fans are clamoring for the villain to drop by the set of SHIELD.

"It would be something that would depend upon script and story but yeah, of course," the British actor told Crave Online when asked if he would like to feature in the television show.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD premieres Sept. 24 on ABC.
