Soulja Boy is willing to buy TikTok after President Joe Biden signed a bill that could restrict the social media platform in the country.

On Wednesday, the POTUS signed a bill that requires TikTok to separate from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. The owner can sell the app within 270 days or face a nationwide ban, Us Weekly reported.

In response to the latest development about the TikTok debate, the American rapper and record producer took to X, formerly Twitter, and expressed his willingness to buy the social media app.

"How much yall want for TikTok? I'll buy it. @tiktok_us," Soulja Boy tweeted.

In separate tweets, the "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" singer showed his disapproval of the potential ban of TikTok. As mentioned, the social media app would be banned unless there is a change in ownership.

"I can't believe yall just gon let them ban TikTok like that. And yall think it's funny. If they do it to this app, they can do it to any app or site. Not cool fr yall will see later," he wrote.

"You maybe don't see it now, but TikTok is more important than any other platform right now that's why they're trying to ban it trust me," he added.

Soulja Boy's tweets about TikTok received mixed responses. Some were convinced that he could afford it if ByteDance would sell the app, while one clarified it would not be banned unless they sold the app.

"It's NOT banned. Damn. They simply need to sell their China interest in the company," one commented.

Another added, "It's around 50 billion, but s**t I know Draco could make it happen."

"Soulja boy is the only rapper that can afford it [prayer hands emoji] please save TikTok," a third person opined.

"You and @elonmusk can buy it saves us," another commenter said.

However, even if Soulja Boy can afford the app, it's reportedly unlikely he will own TikTok because ByteDance has no plans of selling it. The company prefers to be shut down in the United States than sell the app that is core to its overall operations, a source told Reuters.

TikTok already responded to the bill Biden signed by releasing a statement on X. It called the "TikTok ban" "unconstitutional" while warning that millions of businesses would be affected if the app were banned in the country.

"This unconstitutional law is a TikTok ban, and we will challenge it in court. We believe the facts and the law are clearly on our side, and we will ultimately prevail," TikTok wrote on X. "The fact is, we have invested billions of dollars to keep U.S. data safe and our platform free from outside influence and manipulation. This ban would devastate seven million businesses and silence 170 million Americans."

"As we continue to challenge this unconstitutional ban, we will continue investing and innovating to ensure TikTok remains a space where Americans of all walks of life can safely come to share their experiences, find joy, and be inspired."

Shou Zi Chew, TikTok's CEO, also called the signing of the bill a "disappointing moment." He, however, assured the users that they would take legal action against the passage of the bill and were confident that they would stay.

"Rest assured, we aren't going anywhere," Chew said. "We are confident, and we will keep fighting for your rights in the courts. The facts and the Constitution are on our side, and we expect to prevail again."
