Colton Dixon said one of the most memorable moments of his elimination from American Idol on Thursday was that he got to sing for God in the show one more time.

Colton, who was known in the show as a devout Christian, was very "humbled and thankful" to be in the show, the singer said in an interview. For his last song he performed "Everything" by Lifehouse.

"Im so glad that I got to proclaim his name one last time on the stage in front of 20 million people," Dixon, a devout Christian, said. "We are all messengers... Don't be afraid to sptep out of your comfort zone, to step out of your box."

Colton also thanked his fans and people backstage.

"There's no way to explain performing on that stage. It still hasn't hit me how big of a deal it is," Dixon said.
