The writers of Homeland recently teased new spoilers for the show's upcoming third season.

Writers/producers Alex Cary, Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon, Meredith Steihm and composer Sean Callery gathered at a TV Academy panel to discuss the series.

"In the first two seasons you see Carrie (Claire Danes) and the CIA on the defensive, and now you see them on the offensive," Cary said, when asked how season 3 would be different from the previous two season.

He said that this new dynamic should make things interesting between Carrie and the recently exiled Brody (Damian Lewis).

Another central theme of the season will be the pressure placed on intelligence officers Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) in the wake of the bombing at Langley, Va. in the season 2 finale.

Fans of Brody may be disappointed to learn that he will not show up in the first two episodes, according to a report by E!Online on Thursday.

The report also claims that the first two episodes will showcase Carrie and Saul's relationship being tested.

"His presence wasn't required...the audience will be the judge of that," Gansa said of the writers' choice to omit Brody in the first two episodes.

Homeland Season 3 Spoilers: Official 3-Minute Trailer Released

A new trailer was released for season 3 recently. It features three television screens sitting on a table that turn on one after the other. The first TV screen features Brody's video--often featured in season 1 and 2--in which he explains his love for his country. The next screen features Carrie testifying in court about Brody.

"What if I told you I don't think he did it? I don't think Brody knew the bomb was in his car. He's innocent," she says.

The final screen features an interposed video of Saul saying, "I won't throw Carrie under the bus. She's unstable. But I'm on her side. I'll do anything."
