Fergie has officially changed her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel, according to The Associated Press.

When she requested the name change in July, the singer wanted to "conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years," her lawyer said.

The Black Eyed Peas member previously referenced her birth name and stage name in her 2006 song Fergalicious.

"They always claim they know me, coming to me, call me Stacy. I'm the F to the E, R, G, the I, the E," she sings on the upbeat track.

With the name change, she also took the last name of her husband, actor Josh Duhamel. The couple has been married for nearly five years, and in February, the pair announced they were expecting their first child together.

While the expecting parent already confirmed they are having a baby boy, they are keeping their lips locked about the child's name.

"Some people may not like it, some people may think it's really cool, but we don't really care, that's why we're not telling anybody," Duhamel told People in July.

Fergie and her husband have been very enthusiastic about the new addition to their family.

"Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump," Fergie tweeted back in February, along with a childhood photo of her and her husband.

In an interview with E Online in April, the singer also praised her husband's for his support during her pregnancy.

"He's so nice and wonderful. He sings and talks to my belly all the time. He's very complimentary. I'm very lucky that he's really good to me," she said. "He's going to be an amazing father. He's got natural parenting instincts."

The baby is due in late August or early September.
