One of the roles on Game of Thrones may be recast for season 4, according to new reports.

The actor for young Tommen Baratheon may be replaced for season 4 of the show. Actor Callum Wharry originally played Tommen in the show's first two seasons, but Game of Thrones fan-site Winter is Coming reported that he will be recast.

Sources reportedly said taking his place will be Dean-Charles Chapman, who actually played Martyn Lannister in season 3. Martyn was one of the captives of Robb Stark (Richard Madden) who was killed by Rickard Karstark (John Stahl).

The switch to a new actor may be a relatively easy transition considering that Callum Wharry has not appeared as Tommen since episode 9 of season 2, titled Blackwater. His screentime has been relatively limited compared to the rest of the cast.

Tommen will play a very pivotal role in season 4 as long as the series continues to adapt A Storm of Swords accurately, the third novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series. Considering Tommen will be such a significant character going forward, the producers might be thinking that an older actor could handle the material better.
