'Orange Is The New Black' Season 2 Spoilers: Storylines To Turn World & Culture 'On Its Head'? [TRAILER, NEWS]
While most of the focus in Orange Is The New Black is on main character Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), the intimidating part of Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) has also managed to standout on the groundbreaking program.
While Crazy Eyes wasn't exactly warmly received toward the beginning of the first season, fans seemed to eventually warm up to her, as a recent essay posted on Cultural-Learnings pushed forth the respective point.
"I found myself unwilling to use the name 'Crazy Eyes' in writing about the character in later episodes," she said.
Aduba recently spoke to the Huffington Post, and praised OITNB creator Jenji Kohan along with the rest of the writing team, who she feels have composed some groundbreaking material.
"We are in the hands of writers who are about to turn our ideas of what we think about this culture, this world, on its head," she added.
The actress also touched on her character's innocence, vulnerability and how that pertains to her trying to woo other women.
"What if it wasn't so much that she's angry or kind of this base-level person? What if she thinks she's a really great flirt? She thinks she's really good at picking up women. Obviously she's not that good at it, but you kind of go from there. She's just off, just a little bit off," she said.
