Disney+ Under Spotlight as Kim Soo Hyun and Park Na Rae Take Completely Different Stances
Disney+, on the other hand, is coming under the spotlight due to the differences it is making between releasing works that feature celebrities due to negative reasons. This has led to questions about how the platform weighs risk and public backlash.

Disney+ announced on February 4 that its original variety show Fate War 49 would come out on February 11. The survival-style show has 49 fortune tellers competing in missions.
Jeon Hyun-moo, Park Na-rae, Park Ha-sun, Shindong, and Kang Ji-young all make appearances. People quickly took notice of the announcement because Park Na-rae had just said she was taking a break from broadcasting after a lot of problems. Xportsnews says that the confirmation of the release soon after those problems came to light made people even more interested.
To clear things up, the production team talked about Park Na-rae's role. "The Fate War 49" side told Xportsnews, "Due to the nature of survival variety shows in which the contestants participate, Park Na-rae is just one of many panelists," and added, "There are no separate changes regarding editing."

Park Na-rae's agency also said something about when the release would happen. Her side told Xportsnews, "'Fate War 49' is a program that was filmed and produced a long time ago, so it is simply being released according to the release schedule," and continued, "Since it is not a program centered around Park Na-rae, we did not receive a separate schedule sharing from the production team."
They further clarified her status by saying, "Although the article describes her return, nothing has been decided regarding her future activities."
On the other hand, Disney+ took a very different approach with actor Kim Soo-hyun. In March of last year, Kim was accused of having a relationship with a minor, which the family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron made.
His agency strongly denied the claims, calling them "clearly false," but the public outrage grew as more evidence came to light. Reports cited by Naver say that Kim Soo-hyun's side later said, "We only dated for a year when we were adults," but the public backlash continued.
Because of this, Kim Soo-hyun was cut from TV shows and ads. His original Disney+ show Knockoff, which had already finished filming and was getting ready for a second season, was put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. Disney+ said it was "holding back on its release plans," and almost a year later, there has been no news, even at the company's recent "Disney+ Open House" event, according to Naver.
Disney+'s different reactions to Park Na-rae and Kim Soo-hyun, who are both involved in scandals and have already finished projects, have sparked debate.
