Helen Mirren has addressed reports of tension with her "MobLand" co-star Tom Hardy, and her response has surprised fans with its warmth.

On Thursday, the Oscar-winning actress, 80, shared a photo of Hardy on Instagram with a short but striking caption: "Love you now and always Helen." The message appeared to directly counter growing rumors that the two had been clashing on set of the Paramount+ crime drama.

A representative for Hardy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The post comes after reports suggested Mirren, who stars alongside Hardy and Pierce Brosnan in the series, had become "increasingly frustrated" with Hardy's behavior during filming, Daily Mail reported.

Sources claimed the actor's attitude, punctuality, and approach to production had created tension behind the scenes. One insider told the Daily Mail that Mirren "is a joy, she is a total pro," but added she had become frustrated with Hardy's alleged lateness and tone on set. The source also claimed Mirren "expects better" and holds colleagues to high professional standards, while describing Hardy as sometimes acting "very, very arrogant."

Additional reports from Variety and Puck News suggested Hardy may have been let go from the production after conflicts involving producers and script changes.

Allegations included his arriving late to shoots, adjusting dialogue, and giving frequent notes on the script. There were also claims of broader tension between Hardy and production leadership. However, later updates indicated the situation may not be final, with some reports stating Hardy was not officially fired.

According to PageSix, one production insider said "the door is not closed for Season 3," adding that discussions are ongoing to resolve creative differences.

Hardy's alleged behavior on set has also drawn comparisons to past reports from other productions, including "Mad Max: Fury Road," where similar claims of on-set tension and delays were previously reported.

Despite the noise around the production, Mirren's public message has shifted attention. Rather than fueling speculation, her post appeared supportive and affectionate, suggesting no personal conflict between the two stars.

Hardy's character in "MobLand," Harry Da Souza, is a central figure in the London-based crime drama, which also stars Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, and Joanne Froggatt.
