It appears the writers of Supernatural may have crafted a Dean-centric episode for the early half of season 9.

Set to begin filming next week, the Tim Andrew's ("Southern Comfort," "Of Grave Importance") directed episode is titled "Dog Dean Afternoon," according to a photo posted by executive producer Jim Michaels.

Slated to air as the sixth episode of season 9, the canine title appears to put the elder Winchester brother (Jensen Ackles) front and center.

Could this installment bring viewers the "Dr. Dean-little" that executive producer Jeremy Caver has promised? After episode 3, "I'm No Angel," the sci-fi drama is expected to go back to a case per week format and during comic-con Carver dropped hints regarding a storyline that involves Dean developing the ability to commune with animals.

"One of the highlights [is] Dean getting into a brawl with a pigeon," Carver said according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's a logical progression from fairies to pigeons."

Carver refers to the last time Dean was suddenly able to communicate with a being that no one else could - in this case it was fairies during season 6's "Clap Your Hands If You Believe." However, Ben Edlund, the mind behind the previous episode, has left Supernatural behind to follow its creator to Revolution.
