The release date for Transformers 4, which is now titled Transformers: Age of Extinction, has been confirmed while the release date for Terminator 5 has been bumped back.

Paramount announced that Transformers: Age of Extinction will release on June 27 and that the date for Terminator 5 has been pushed to July 1 from the initial date of June 26.

On Sept. 16, a new image from the set featuring some weapons that will be used in the film surfaced on the Internet. The cast and crew were filming at The South Loop on Sept. 14, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The publication also revealed some new images from the shoot.

Fans were treated to glimpses of filming in downtown Chicago in August, where director Michael Bay and crew set-off the fireworks with staged explosions at the McCormick Place Plaza.

Bay released pictures related to the making of Transformers 4, a whole lot of which featured the mean machines that will be used in the film.

Arnold Schwarzenneger confirmed he would be joining the cast of Terminator 5 in June. He also said that they would start filming in January 2014. There were no confirmations about the nature of his role.

Though plot details for Terminator 5 remain tightly under wraps, it's already been announced that the film will be the first in a new stand-alone trilogy. The film is being produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna and David Ellison of Skydance. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake of Skydance will serve as executive producers. Laeta Kalorgridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) will be writing the screenplay.
