Survivor host Jeff Probst recently revealed what fans can expect from the upcoming season of the show and explained the strategies of certain returning players.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water features 10 returning players coming back with one of their loved ones, and Probst told TVGuide in a Tuesday interview that this will provide for a fascinating dynamic.

"When they finally heard me say, 'Loved ones over here, Survivors over here,' you could just feel the energy drain as your [loved one] became your enemy," Probst said. "And we have some great rivalries. If you think you're going to make it to the end, you've not been watching Survivor. Nobody's going to let loved ones go deep into the end."

Probst explained that this season is very emotional because of all the layers. As each contestant will be split up from their loved one, they will actually want their loved one to lose since it means their own tribe is safe from Tribal Council. Suddenly your wife or your brother becomes your enemy in the game.

The host said that fans can expect the same strategies from certain returning players. He teased that Rupert Boneham will continue to be a provider for his tribe while Colton Cumbie will be all about strategy from Day 1. He said there will be plenty of conflict and surprises in the season.

Probst said that he expects most fans to walk away from Blood vs. Water thinking it was a good season. He explained that he doesn't like to rank seasons because it gives people an excuse to say "you're wrong," but thinks that most people will like this one.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water premieres on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS. The episode will be 90 minutes long.
