The finale of America's Got Talent season 8 aired Wednesday night featuring the official crowning of the winner.

Host Nick Cannon announced the placement of each of the six finalists throughout the night. First, he revealed that singer Cami Bradley had finished in sixth place. Bradley said she was grateful for the opportunity to sing for America. Judge Howie Mandel told her not to give up on her dream and that her career was just beginning.

With only five acts remaining, Cannon announced that magician Collins Key had finished in fifth place, much to the dismay of his teen girl fanbase. Key explained that being on America's Got Talent had been the best experience of his life. Judge Howard Stern told Key that the world was his oyster and commended his accomplishments for being only 17 years old.

Cannon revealed that the act finishing in fourth place was opera trio Forte. The judges expressed shock at the result and the trio said that it was a dream come true going from complete strangers to singing on the Radio City Music Hall stage. Judge Heidi Klum said that she would follow the trio wherever they went.

Only a country singer, a dancer/mime and a comedian remained. Cannon announced that country singer Rose had been eliminated and came in third place. Rose said that being on the show was a humble experience and encouraged others to follow their dreams no matter where they came from. Judge Mel B said she wasn't worried about Rose's career as a country singer at all.

The final 2 was revealed to be dancer/mime Kenichi Ebina and comedian Taylor Williamson. Cannon announced that the winner of America's Got Talent season 8 was Ebina. The dancer thanks his family and his fans for supporting him and was visibly overwhelmed by the result. Williamson said that the show had made his dreams come true.

Stern said that America got it right, adding that they had found a true superstar in Ebina and commended Williamson's talent as well. Ebina will receive $1 million and his own show in Las Vegas.
