Julia Louis-Dreyfus took home the award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series" for her role in Veep.

Prior to the show, she walked the red carpet, wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, Edie Parker clutch, Martin Katz earrings, and Lorraine Schwartz ring.

"An angel did my nails. Who's making my dress? #emmys @primetimeemmys #dayinthelife @emikudo" Julia tweeted earlier in the day as a tease to her fans.

The 65th annual Emmy Awards will be putting all the best shows in spotlight - Glee, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey are all heading into the show with multiple nominations, and it should be interesting to see who comes out on top this year.

FX anthology series American Horror Story leads the pack with 17 nominations, while HBO's Game of Thrones follows with 16. NBC's Saturday Night Live and HBO's Behind the Candelabra go into the show with 15 nominations each.
