Fans of the CBS hit sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, continue to gear up for its highly anticipated seventh season, which will be kicking off on Thursday.

Actor Jim Parsons, who dons the popular role of Sheldon on the show, recently nabbed his third Emmy award on Sunday. While on the red carpet, the actor briefly dished to TVLine on what's to come in the upcoming installment, which apparently involves the character informing people about the spanking he had given to Amy.

"I do end up telling people, colleagues of Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) ... Sheldon tells them, because he thinks it's a good thing to tell them, that they've got a good relationship and a physical one and that one time he spanked her ... which he did," he said.

"And I think that he's willing to admit that explains how he felt about that. It needed to happen. It wasn't pleasurable. This hurts me more than it hurts you," Parsons added.

CBS' The Big Bang Theory is slated to start up again on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV show. The Parson red carpet interview can be viewed below.
