The premiere of Season 25 of The Simpsons, which will air on Sept. 29, spoofs Homeland.

The first episode of this season, Homerland, will guest star Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, SNL) as Annie, an FBI agent, who works with Lisa to investigate Homer's suspicious activities after he returns from a nuclear power plant operating convention. According to the synopsis of the episiode, Homer "returns a changed man" after the convention.

The 25th season of The Simpsons was confirmed on Oct. 7 of 2011. Al Jean, the executive producer of the show, has said that this season will kickstart their goal to complete thirty seasons by the end of this decade.

In other Simpsons related news, Universal Studios Florida, paid tribute to the show by recently opening a full-scale, authentic recreation of Moe's Tavern as part of the theme park's Springfield, U.S.A. expansion project.

"Ever since we first opened The Simpsons Ride back in May of 2008, visitors to the Universal Orlando have been telling us that they really wanted to spend more time with these characters, that they wanted to do a deeper dive into the world of the Simpsons," Mike West, an executive producer for Universal Creative, told the Huffington Post.

Here is the official synopsis of the premiere:

"In a nod to the hit cable series, Homeland, Lisa suspects Homer may have been "turned" when he returns a changed man from a nuclear power plant operating convention. So she enlists the services of Annie, an intense, jumpy, FBI agent, to help her unravel the truth."

Homeland's season 3 will make its premiere on Showtime an hour after The Simpsons debuts its 25th season.

Homerland will premiere on Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. E.T. on Fox.
