NBC's supernatural thriller Grimm's third season is set to return to television on Oct. 25 at 9/8c.

It will pick up where season 2 left off and the show's executives James Kouf and David Greenwalt revealed a few secrets to TVLine of what viewers can expect this time around.

Portland cop Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli) was turned into a zombie and Kouf and Greenwalt said things get pretty bad for him.

"On a scale where "kitten" is 1 and "Bengal tiger" is 10, he's about an 11." Kouf said - "and it leaves a mark. By the time the credits roll on the season's second hour, Monroe and everyone will have Nick back. But there's kind of residual damage."

Giuntoli told TVGuide, "Nick will do a lot of damage and he'll be forever changed as result of this. [Laughs] There's going to be a lot of zombie residue!"

The show's bosses also said that characters will face "alligators in the sewer" and "a reemergence of the Bauerschwein-Blutbad feud."

Bauerschwein are a type of pig that resembles boars known for their centuries-long fued with Blutbad that originated in the show's first season. Greenwalt assured fans that they will be spooked and even a little freaked out this season in a Wu-centric episode that features a cop's ugly encounter with Wesen.

He said it will be "something so creepy that the last thing that creepy was the fly episode. This is right on par with that."

Angel and Buffy actor Alexis Denisof will also make his debut on the show this season. He's set to play Viktor Albert Wilhelm George Beckendorf, who is Eric Renard 's(played by James Frain) sneaky and cunning first cousin.
