Brian Weiss Killing: More Details Emerge in Horrific Murder
Rumors surrounding the murder of Brian Weiss are still swirling after the online marketer was killed by his investment partner, Gary Zalevsky, on Thursday.
It has been reported that Zalevsky was furious after investment monies were lost, and that this may have triggered the killing, according to Performance Marketing Insider.
Zalevsky reportedly had already been diagnosed as terminally ill with stomach cancer, and according to insiders he was facing massive pressure to repay investment money that had gone.
The investment money allegedly came from outside sources, who were affiliated with people you generally do not want to owe money to. It is believed that the pressure being applied to Zalevsky may have caused him to crack, leading to the killing of Weiss.
Weiss has generally been reported as a good friend, and a fantastic husband and father, and many are now mourning his death.
He has also been described as a kind man willing to put others before him; it is reported that even after his Acai dealings, which nearly destroyed his business, he paid back everyone he personally knew, according to Performance Marketing Insider.
Thursday's incident saw two men killed in what the NYPD has described as a murder-suicide in the lobby of a Queens hotel.
Zalevsky, 47, and Weiss, 31, both from Florida, were sitting in a private room of the lobby at lunchtime with four other men, according to AP. The group of men appeared to be in their 40s.
There was allegedly an argument between the group of men. Zalevsky reportedly shot Weiss in the head, killing him immediately. He stepped back and looked on, and shot himself shortly afterwards.
The four other men were reportedly attempting to flee the scene but they have since been caught by authorities and detained.
Those who were at the scene spoke to the New York Times. Gary Bates-Brown, a hotel steward, told the paper: "It's such a shock. That's really crazy."
