Riots ensued around Boston's Fenway Park on Wednesday night after the Boston Red Sox won the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red Sox earned its first championship-clinching game at home since 1918.

Police officers were on high alert around the park as thousands of fans congregated as the game came to an end. Police were battling the madness on horses, bikes and in helicopters. Fans jumped onto moving vehicles and overturned at least two cars around Massachusetts Avenue. Nine people were arrested for unruly behavior, according to THE EPOCH TIMES.

Boston was not the only city that rioted in New England following the sports game. Three New Hampshire universities had several disturbing events take place, WMUR reported.

Students at Keene State College flipped a car over, which caused heavy damage. A crowd was seen throwing glass bottles, rocks and ice. A woman was injured when she was hit in the arm by a rock. Police made no arrests but are looking to find who flipped the vehicle.

At Plymouth State University, light poles collapsed after students climbed on them. Some also started small fires around campus.

To break up an estimated 3,000 unruly students, police used pepper spray and pepper balls at the University of New Hampshire. Students were seen coughing when leaving the area and both the police and students suffered minor injuries. Five UNH students were arrested and face misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct.
