American Idol alum Adam Lambert recently revealed details about the character he'll be playing on upcoming episodes of Glee.

Lambert will be making his debut Glee appearance on Thursday night's episode, titled A Katy or a Gaga. In the episode, Lambert plays Elliott "Starchild" Gilbert, an energetic singer who auditions for Kurt's (Chris Colfer) new band.

"He's a singer and he's looking for any way to break into the business, and he's trying to immerse himself in everything," Lambert told Entertainment Weekly in a Thursday report.

Lambert described the episode as being especially relevant to the music industry and being a struggling artist in the industry.

"It's a really interesting episode that explores the balance between being an artist and [having] that type of integrity, and also being a business person and being commercial," Lambert explained. "I've been in the music business now after Idol, and gone through the process of putting out songs and working with the radio, so I have a lot of experience with that juggling act."

Kurt will not react positively to Starchild's audition performance of Marry the Night by Lady Gaga. Both Santana (Naya Rivera) and Dani (Demi Lovato) will be fond of the theatrical performer, however. Considering Lambert is scheduled to appear in multiple episodes this season, it should be expected that he'll be featured in the New York storylines for a while.
