The first trailer for NBC's The Sound of Music, Live featuring Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer (True Blood) was revealed on Nov. 7.

Underwood dominates the teaser and takes the audience behind the scenes during rehearsals.

"Nobody does stuff like this for one night," she says. "The talent is off the charts, these people are amazing."

The bits from the rehearsals feature the nuns harmonizing, the children having a good time, jumping on beds and scurrying down the staircase, and Underwood and Moyer dancing. Underwood is also seen singing My Favorite Things in the clip.

"It feels so good, we are doing it live in front of the entire universe, it's going to be a lot of fun," Underwood talks excitedly about the main event.

Moyer will play the role of Capt. Georg Von Trapp and Underwood will portray Maria Rainer. Von Trapp is a World War I hero and single father, living in Austria on the cusp of WWII. He hires a governess, Rainer, to take care of his children. The musical follows the romantic relationship that gradually develops between Von Trapp and Rainer, and eventually triumphs all obstacles that come in its way.

The three-hour production is based on the original 1959 Broadway production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel portrayed the roles of Rainer and Von Trapp in the original. The play won the Tony Award for best musical. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer starred in the 1965 film adapatation which won five Academy Awards.

This production comes from Universal TV and is executive produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, and co-directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller and Rob Ashford.

The show is scheduled to air on NBC on Dec. 5.
