Joanna Krupa admitted in a recent interview to having an eating disorder at the start of her modeling career when she faced difficulty losing weight. 

The Real Housewives of Miami star proclaims during the Bravo reality show's opening credits, "Don't hate me because I have it all. Hate me because I'm beautiful." However, the Polish model's confident exterior shadows struggles she faced in her early twenties.

"I gained weight and struggled to lose it quickly in order to pursue my dreams of being a model," the 34-year-old told People in a report published Thursday, Nov. 14. "Being 20 years old, I had no idea how to lose weight fast and laxatives were an easy way out."

The former Dancing With the Stars competitor was able to stop her unhealthy eating habits before they became worse and said, "Thank God I didn't hurt myself and stopped."

The newlywed now maintains a healthy diet and exercises regularly to stay slim. She tweeted on Thursday, "Long day now Time for a workout!" 

Krupa also bares her body in a 2014 wall calendar in which a portion of the proceeds will go to Angels for Animal Rescue, one of the many animal rights groups she supports. 

She also told the magazine she is ready to focus on starting a family with her husband, Romain Zago. 

"I would love to have twins - a girl and a boy, but who knows if that would happen," she said. "It would be my ideal situation. Wham, bam be done with it."
