Monty Python will be reuniting for a special stage show with the surviving members of the group, Terry Jones confirmed in an interview with BBC News published on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Over the past few days group member Eric Idle had already been dropping hints about the reunion via Twitter.

"Only three days to go till the Python Press Conference. Make sure Python fans are alerted to the big forthcoming news event," he tweeted Monday, Nov. 18.

Jones finally confirmed the news many people have been anticipating.

"We're getting together and putting on a show - it's real," he said. "I'm quite excited about it. I hope it makes us a lot of money. I hope to be able to pay off my mortgage!"

The official announcement will be made at a press conference at the Playhouse Theatre in London on Nov. 21, which showcased The Holy Grail's musical spin-off Spamalot. All of the group's surviving members -- John Cleese,Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin, Idle and Jones --  will attend.

Idle expressed his excitement about the upcoming press conference on Nov. 19, by tweeting: "Python meeting this morning. Can't wait. Press Conference Thursday will apparently be live on Sky News. I'll get you the online URL."

Graham Chapman is the only member of the group who is not alive. The musician died in 1989.

While most fans are exhilirated by the news, some might be a bit nervous about if the group will be able to pass muster after all of these years. Comedian and Python fan, David Schneider was quite skeptical about the reunion.

"The worry is, what if its rubbish, as you get older and wealthier and part of the establishment, you lose your edge comedically," he told BBC 5 Live.
