Rihanna became the talk of the town on Twitter Sunday night after she wore a Dominican doobie wrap hairstyle to accept her award for R&B Female Artist at the American Music Awards.

The Bajan beauty appeared on stage to receive the award beating Alicia Keys and Ciara in her hair wrapped to perfection with bobby pins holding it up. The hairstyle, known to women as something that wear before bed of after they leave the salon seemed to be a norm for Rihanna as she wore it in the whole night.

She also recieved the first-ever AMA icon award still with the doobie intact. The singer looked beautiful in a stunning bias-ruffled gown in silk with Alexander Wang strappy stilettos.

Jay Z precorded a video and sent his congratulations to his Roc Nation artist, but it was Rihanna's mother, Monica Fenty that stole the show when she came out and presented the award for her daughter.

"I applaud and admire you for being so strong, and so humble, and so positive," Fenty said.

Rihanna then took the microphone and gave an iconic speech.

"It was 17 years ago when I started making your life a living hell with my annoying husky little man-voice as you call it," she laughed. "I can't believe that at 25 years old, I'm holding an icon award."

But despite the huge milestone in Rihanna's career after accepting the AMA, Twitter still joked about her hair.
