Sleepy Hollow's Ichabod Crane got the exciting news last week that he's a new daddy.

Well, sort of new. New as in his son was born nearly 250 years ago and his purgatory-trapped wife never bothered to mention this tidbit to him.

Although Crane now has this new familial mystery to solve, it doesn't look as if he will be any less devoted to his wife, Katrina (Katia Winter). While this is good news for supporters of lovers separated unwillingly across time and space, those looking for a romantic Ichabod/ Abbie (Nicole Beharie) storyline may be slightly disappointed.

"At the moment I think Katrina is just thankful because obviously she wants Abbie to help him and, you know, she can't because she's stuck in purgatory," Winters told Popsugar in regards to Ichabod's fidelity. "The fans really want a love triangle, I don't know if the writers are going to explore that. I think the idea from the beginning was just to have a kind of Scully and Mulder type relationship."

However, this does not completely eradicate the possibility of a relationship between Ichabod and his present day leftenant at some point further down the road. They have, after all, been thrown together for seven years worth of apocalypse fighting.

"It's always possible, given the intensity of the circumstances that they are the only ones understanding what each other is going through," said executive producer Alex Kurtzman, according to TV Guide. "There may be a tendency toward more, but that would have to evolve as organically as their friendship has evolved, so time will tell." In other words, it's likely, but not anytime soon."

Catch up with the supernatural duo as they take on a Golem in next week's episode.

Sleepy Hollow airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
