While there were initial reports that Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) may be making an eventual exit from the British-American drama, Downton Abbey, fans may have to prepare for another departure in the form of the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith).

More On Lady Cora's Potential Departure

"Im very sad because I haven't done anything in theatre to justify this. I wish I had. Doing something on stage at the National the other night was extraordinary. I'd love to do more," Smith told PlayBill on Nov. 20.

Another interesting rumor floating around is that former boxing legend Mike Tyson would be making an appearance on the program, according to iDigital Times.

"I would. I'm coming to the West End soon for my one-man show, so maybe when I fly to the UK they'll give me a part on Downton Abbey. I like that show. I'm sure they could give me a part," he said.

Although it's surely hard to fathom a retired boxer with a facial tattoo on the program, anything can be disguised in this day and age.

Next up for Downton Abbey will be its Christmas Special, which will hit the U.K. smallscreen Sunday, Dec. 25.

The TV series will be debuting its fourth season in the U.S. on Jan. 5, 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more details.
