Former American Idol Contestant Ace Young Proposes to fellow Idol Diana DeGarmo on Finale
American Idol's former contestant Ace Young proposed to fellow contestant Diana DeGarmo during the Season 11th Finale.
The former contestants were in the audience when host Ryan Seacrest asked them to come on stage.
"Diana we have conquered Broadway together. We have an amazing group of people around us. I have a way to make this fun last forever. WIll you marry me?" Young said as he kneeled on stage and gave her a ring.
"I want to make this last forever..Diana.. will you marry me?" he asked.
A tearful Diana said "Yes!"
"I'm so speechless!" she said and both looked tearful.
DeGarmo, a runner-up on Season 3 and Young, who placed seventh in Season 5, are the first Idols to live together and the first to do a Broadway show together.
They performed reportedly met in the revival of Broadway musical "Hair" in 2010 and started dating.
"We were friends, first and foremost..We had both been through 'Idol,' which is such a unique and life-changing experience, and we just truly bonded," DeGarmo recently told Us magazine.
DeGarmo is signed to Young's record label, Young Brothers Entertainment.
The couple also co-wrote her country ballad, "Good Goodbye," for The Young & The Restless.
