American Idol 2012 Winner is Phillip Phillips!
This season's American Idol winner is Phillip Phillips!! After a record 132 million votes, the public has chosen its American Idol 2012 winner. Phillips, the new American Idol sang "Home" just after his win. Half way through his song, Phillips was overcome with emotion and tearfully continued to sing and walked down the stage to his family to give them a hug.

The American Idol finale show kicked off tonight with the former contestants coming together to perform a number. Afterwards, Phillip Phillips came onstage with John Fogerty and sang "Have you ever seen the rain" and "I see a bad moon rising". Phillips said: "It's such an honor to be on the stage with John Fogerty." He looks very happy to be singing and sharing the stage with him.
Next up was Joshua Ledet and Fantastia singing "Take me to the pilot".
The top 12 female contestants of AI performed a melody of songs, including "Ain't nobody" and "I'm every woman". They were joined by Chaka Khan in "I'm every woman". But what was more intriguing about the performance was Khan's interesting choice of outfit - a skintight bodysuit.
Afterwards, the two finalists and their mentors are presented with keys to brand new cars from Ford! Then Rihanna comes onstage to perform her latest single "Where have you been". RiRi simmered on stage with her sexy outfit and dance moves.
Skylar Lane sang a duet with Reba McEntire to "Turn on the radio". Jessica Sanchez then sang "I will always love you" perfectly. Then the guys of the top 12 came on to perform a melody of songs and later joined by musical legend Neil Diamond.
Judge Jennifer Lopez performed her latest hit "Follow the leader" with Wisin Y Yandel.
Former American Idol contestants Ace Young and Diana Degarmo, who are a couple now, were spotted in the audience. Seacrest asked them to come onto the stage. There, Ace asked Dianna to marry her. A tearful Diana replied, "Yes!".
The male contestants gave a tribute to the Bee Gees singer Robin Gibbs who passed away last week. They sang "How deep is your love" and "to love somebody".
Jennifer Sanchez and Jennifer Holliday belted out a very powerful hair-raising rendition of "I'm telling you I'm not going". By the end, it had JLo and Randy jumping up and down.

Steve Tyler came on stage with his band Aerosmith and rocked to "Legendary Child" and "Walk this way".
