The Mentalist's Patrick Jane really is moving on from his previous life haunted by Red John and he'll prove it by asking someone out on a date.

The faux psychic will be looking to spend a little more time with Devious Maids guest star, Brianne Brown, according to TV Line. Named Krystal Markham, Brown's character will be linked to a case Jane (Simon Baker) is working on for the FBI.

Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and Jisbon fans shouldn't despair quite yet, though. Knowing Jane, this proposal could just be one of his wily tricks to gain a bit more intel on the current case or suspect. Unlike the FBI, fans are used to Jane's unconventional means of investigation.

The widower hasn't been in the dating scene for quite sometime, but killing his old nemesis has helped the Mentalist sever some old ties with his past. During "My Blue Heaven," Jane even removed his wedding ring before heading out with Kim Fischer (Emily Swallow). However, its still up for debate whether their evening out could be considered a date, an impromptu dinner between two strangers, or a way for Fischer to get a read on a potential employee.
