Broncos Game Stabbings [VIDEO] Suspect Justin Lee Manzanares in Custody, Three Victims 'Conscious and Talking'
A Denver Broncos game took a tragic turn Thursday night when at least three people were stabbed in a parking lot connected to the team's stadium, Sports Authority Field, according to Police Spokesman, Steve Warneke.
He said authorities arrived to a "very chaotic" scene and found three people who had been stabbed. One person is currently in critical condition, the others are stable. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening. As of now, 29-year-old Justin Lee Manzanares is being held for the charges. There were two others who were arrested but were released shortly after while officials continue investigating.
"There's lots of witnesses. We're going to interviewing witnesses throughout the night. [The victims] are conscious and talking," Warneke said Thursday night.
When it comes to what caused the stabbing, Warneke is confident that it had nothing to do with the game, though Denver lost to San Diego 27-20.
He said the stabbings came after Manzanares pulled out of a parking spot and crashed into the victims' car, causing a fender bender. A fight broke out and the Manzanares took a knife that was tucked under his belt and attacked the three people. Warneke said a fourth person could have been assaulted as well but left before officers were able to get there. The attack was reported to police at 9:55pm, according to USA Today.
Police released a statement saying that all suspects have been arrested.
"We do not believe there are any suspects at large at this time."
The stadium also released an official statement Thursday.
"Stadium Management Company is aware of an incident that occurred in a parking lot adjacent to Sports Authority Field at Mile High. We are currently working with authorities to gather more information."
The Broncos have chosen not to comment.
