The football team at Stanford will be facing off against Michigan State at 5:00 p.m. EST Wednesday for the 2014 Rose Bowl.

The fourth-ranked Michigan State Spartans (12-1) will be playing the fifth-ranked Stanford Cardinal (11-2) at the neutral Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, Calif. The game serves as the Rose Bowl, which is presented by Vizio and has been held annually since 1916. Stanford is the favorite to win among oddsmakers.

Stanford running back Tyler Gaffney is confident that the team's fans will help carry the momentum to win the game.

"I can tell you the fans bring emotions like I've never seen," he said. "Stanford fans are out of the woodwork, and you really feel a part of the game up in the stands. But I can't wait to be on the field and actually be a part of the game."

Meanwhile, Michigan State linebacker Denicos Allen knows the importance of the Rose Bowl and what it means for past and present players.

"This game isn't just for us or the program, it's for the players who came so close but didn't make it before us," Allen said. "And for the players after us, setting standards for this program now.

While Stanford has won seven of their last nine games, UNLV has won nine of their last 10 games in the NCAA.
