The three-part epic miniseries is the channel's first scripted drama, starring Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton and Tom Berenger.

The series is about Hatfield and McCoy, who return home during the Civil War but the two become enemies and results with disputes, kidnappings, family members dying and a whole lot of retaliation.
The History Channel website describes the miniseries: "The Hatfield-McCoy saga begins with Devil Anse Hatfield (Costner) and Randall McCoy (Paxton). Close friends and comrades until near the end of the Civil War, they return to their neighboring homes-Hatfield in West Virginia, McCoy just across the Tug River border in Kentucky-to increasing tensions, misunderstandings and resentments that soon explode into all-out warfare between their families. As hostilities grow, friends, neighbors and outside forces join the fight, bringing the two states to the brink of another civil war."
The soundtrack for the miniseries is available on iTunes. The songs are performed by Kevin Costner and his band Modern West.

"Hatfields & McCoys" will be availble on Blu-Ray and DVD on July 31.
