On the upcoming second season of The Americans, much of the focus will be on the dysfunctional Jennings family.

The Americans executive producer Joel Fields told TVLine recently that season 2 will concern itself with "the family as a whole," rather than just the Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) marriage.

The season 1 finale previewed their daughter Paige getting closer to the truth of her parents' identities as secret KGB spies. Season 2 will focus on Paige's suspicions to drive the narrative forward.

Fans of Claudia (Margo Martindale), the KGB supervisor who memorably got beat up by Elizabeth in season 1, will return to guest star in season 2 as well.

Though Martindale is currently starring in the successful CBS sitcom The Millers, she is taking time out of her busy schedule to film some episodes for The Americans. Executive producer Joe Weisberg says that Martindale's return as Claudia will be "emotional and surprising." Martindale was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in season 1 of The Americans, the only actor to achieve a nomination with the awards group.

Meanwhile, Philip will continue to deal with his "crazy and dangerous" fake marriage to Martha (Alison Wright) in the new season. Elsewhere, a new young KGB officer (guest star Costa Ronin) will be introduced - an officer that has "a talent for technology," according to Fields.

The Americans season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. on FX.
