The Winchester brothers are on the verge of discovering how to gank hell's newest ruler in "First Born."

After leaving fans hanging with a game changing midseason finale, the CW series will return on Jan. 14 with "Road Trip." Once Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) find a way to rid Sam (Jared Padalecki) of his angelic hitchhiker, Team Free Will will be indebted to Crowley (Mark Sheppard). However, what the former crossroads demon wants as repayment may turn out to be beneficial to the hunters as well.

Now that Abaddon (Alaina Huffman) is unleashing her reign of terror in hell and ramping up the quality of demon vessels, Crowley and the Winchesters have something in common - a mutual desire for the last Knight of Hell to draw her final breath. During "First Born," Dean and Crowley will be hot on the trail of a weapon that can potentially make those dreams a reality, according to Winchester Bros.

Their search for the deadly "First Blade" will bring the duo into contact with Cain (Tim Omundson), the "Father of Murder." After killing off his younger brother, Cain became one of the first demons and, coincidentally, the trainer of the Knights of Hell, according to E!.

Meanwhile, back at the bunker, Cas and Sam will be busy cooking up a plan to track the newly escaped Gadreel, according to Winchester Bros. Unfortunately for the youngest Winchester, this plan could result in some form of lasting damage. Will Sam's latent sacrificial feelings push him to take the risk?
