Judd Apatow will be voicing himself on The Simpsons on Sunday, January 5th. He will also have an episode he wrote two decades ago appear on the series next season.

According to EW, the Knocked Up director wrote the episode 22 years ago when he was trying to make it big in Hollywood. When Apatow mentioned this in an interview with Conan O'Brien, the show's produces contacted him to look over the episode and see what they could do.

Apatow's episode involves the Simpsons family going to a hypnotist show where he hypnotizes Homer into thinking he's a 10-year-old boy...but the magician has a heart-attack, leaving Homer trapped as a 10-year-old. Apatow mentioned that the episode is about Homer actually wanting to stay 10-years-old.

"It's about Homer and Bart becoming best friends because they're the same age," Apatow said. "And then Homer doesn't want to be revived because he'd rather be 10 than have adult responsibility."

Apatow may also write another episode for The Simpsons- if the opportunity still stands. "I'll keep pitching and then they'll let me do another one in 22 years," Apatow said.

In the episode that will air on Jan. 5th, Apatow plays a self-involved version of himself. His character gives detail on fighting the prevention of piracy. "I give a big speech about how DVD piracy doesn't just hurt big stars," Apatow said. "I say, 'It's not just the people who dream for a living, but the people who depend on us- the spin class instructors, the personal rabbis, Seth Rogen."

The episode also stars Paul Rudd, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum and other celebrities who have worked with Apatow.
