Erin Andrews' tongue became topic of conversation during the sportscaster's Fox NFL live coverage of Sunday Night Football.

Curt Menefee joked with Andrews about having A Christmas Story moment as she braved the cold during the San Francisco 49ers Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers, which had a kickoff temperature of five degrees. Andrews was on the field bundled up in a winter coat, scarf and thick gloves in an effort to keep herself as warm as possible during her reporting.

Menefee referenced the 1983 holiday flick from the warmth of the Fox studio when he spoke to Andrews, and she had a witty response.

"Randall Cobb is back and so too to this show is our own Erin Andrews who, using your 'Christmas Story' reference, hopefully hasn't been licking the goal post in between. Your tongue working right now?" Menefee asked in the pregame show, referring to the well-known scene in the film where Scott Schwartz's character Flick is dared to lick a frozen flag pole.

"So far so good," Andrews replied. "But I anticipate sounding like Flick from A Christmas Story."

A video of her response went viral and began trending online,

Andrews revealed that she was wearing heated socks during the Wild Card game and that she "never felt cold quite like that." She was standing so close to the players' heater on the field that she actually managed to burn through her gloves.

"There was a small fire for me on the 49'ers sideline...burned my glove standing too close to the player's heater," she posted on Twitter, along with a photo of the burnt glove revealing her fingers.
