While most fans have become accustomed to seeing Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman) and the rest of the ensemble cast on Orange Is The New Black decked out in orange jumpsuits at Litchfield Penitentiary, the women of the program recently got to shed their jailbird get-up for an elegant photo shoot.

While on the Netflix's show's set in Queens, N.Y., the girls got to play dress-up for the February 2014 edition of Elle Magazine, as they modeled modern spring fashion styles.

Schilling spoke to Extra TV about her character's psyche and the enjoyment she gets to experience each time she steps into such an unorthodox role.

"She'd had it up to here. It's fun to play a character with such a dramatic shift," she said.

Laura Prepon, who plays Chapman's ex, Alex Vaus, is clearly on the prowl to woo Piper, her ex girlfriend, once again. Prepon explained that her character is just biding her time to do so.

"I always think of her as a spider. She's just waiting for the final kill," she said.

Longtime actress Kate Mulgrew (Red), who also participated in the photo spread, dished on what she feels is the essential commonality that exists amongst her fellow cast of inmates.

"These are not mass murderers. These are women who tripped -- some just slipped on a banana peel," she said.
