A replacement for the role of James on True Blood has already been found in the wake of Luke Grimes' departure.

Nathan Parsons (Bunheads) will now take over the role of James in True Blood season 7, according to a new report by TVLine. Parsons will have series regular status for the seventh (final) season of True Blood.

Grimes left the popular HBO drama because of creative differences regarding his character.

"He initially joined the show because he wanted to work with [his Forever co-star] Deborah Ann Woll," a source told TVLine about Grimes' experience on the show. "But when he started reading the scripts for Season 7, he was disappointed to learn that they were going in a completely different direction with James."

True Blood season 7 is already in production as star Stephen Moyer (Bill) is directing the premiere episode.

In other True Blood news, HBO indirectly addressed the rumors that there was going to be a True Blood feature film following the end of the series. When asked about the rumors at the Television Critics Association press tour, the network was careful with their words.
