A new behind-the-scenes trailer for season 2 of Bates Motel is now available, teasing new plot and character details.

The trailer reveals that the season 2 premiere will pick up right after the events of the season 1 finale, in which Norman's (Freddie Highmore) teacher Miss Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy) died. There is new footage of Miss Watson's funeral intercut between scenes of Norma (Vera Farmiga) asking Norman what happened the night of Miss Watson's death.

As Farmiga explains in the trailer, season 2 will continue to explore the complications for Norma knowing that her son is a monster.

Bates Motel season 3 will feature a slew of new characters, including George (Michael Vartan), a newly divorced man who becomes Norma's new love interest. Christine (Rebecca Creskoff) is George's sister, a society woman who introduces Norma to the high society in White Pine Bay.

Unfortunately for Norma it won't all be romance and rubbing elbows with rich people. Norma's half brother Caleb (Kenny Johnson) comes into town and complicates matters for her. Caleb is the brother who raped her as a teenager, as Norma explained in the season 1 finale.

Overall, the new season will be darker and more dramatic than the first season, according to creator Carlton Cuse.

"If viewers think they have Bates Motel figured out, they're wrong," Cuse teases in the trailer.

Bates Motel season 2 premieres Monday, March 3 at 10 p.m. on A&E.
