Homeland may still be getting good ratings for Showtime, but one former CIA operative is no longer impressed with the show after season 3.

Former CIA operative Valerie Plame recently commented on Homeland season 3, admitting that while the show remains a "compelling story," she added that she thinks the show "jumped the shark" this season, suggesting that the quality had decreased.

Plame was quick to point out some of the inaccuracies featured in Homeland compared to the way the CIA really operates.

"It has to be entertaining and it certainly is," Plame admitted. "But what is the fact that the character she plays in bipolar and no one really notices?"

Plame took issue with the use of cell phones on the show, saying that they are not used within the base.

"There's a lot of things and here's another tipoff. They always use their cell phone inside headquarters. You realize your cell phone is really like a little transmission device right? It's a little GPS inside there. That would never happen," she explained.

Plame resigned from her post at the CIA in 2005 after her identity was revealed in a 2003 article by Robert Novak. There was speculation that this was done with President George W. Bush's knowledge as revenge for a column written by Plame's husband, which ultimately led to her resignation.

Homeland season 3 was heavily criticized for focusing too much on Dana Brody (Morgan Saylor), the whiny teenager daughter of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis). The negative buzz led to a complete snub of the show at the 2014 Golden Globes, despite awarding the show Best Drama Series the previous two years.
