The Following's Joe Carroll has flipped his switch and he may have just acquired a new apprentice.

Ryan Hardy's (Kevin Bacon) nemesis has been sequestered down South for the last 12 months as an allegedly reformed man named Darryl. After the lighthouse explosion and his supposed death, Carroll (James Purefoy) took up residence with a prostitute named Judy (Carrie Preston) and her teenaged daughter, Mandy (Tiffany Boone). A long-time fan of Carroll, Judy believes she can - and has -put an end to his murderous ways.

During "For Joe," Mandy saw first hand that Carroll was the same killer he always was.

After the local reverend (CJ Wilson) determined Carroll's true identity, Mandy became an accomplice when she knocked him out to keep him from escaping, after which Carroll sent the preacher to meet his maker. Now a witness and abettor, the youngster is in a prime position to become Joe's newest Follower.

As the series moves into next Monday's "Trust Me," Mandy will experience some difficulties with her mother, who has yet to learn of the reverends untimely demise.

"You'll see the fractures in their relationship and what they're going to do about that going forward," Boone told TV Line while asking her Twitter followers, "What do you think mama's gonna say next week?"
