Fans of Discovery Channel's Amish Mafia were awarded with an early Valentine's Day gift when the network announced that the show's third season would air on Feb. 25.

Season 3 Episodes Being Filmed In New York?

According to the Lebanon Daily News, Levi will continue to struggle in the new season to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Lancaster Amish community.

"Both old and new rivals are lurking nearby, determined to take away Levi's power and bring him down once and for all," a statement by Discovery Channel read. "Levi must stand his ground and expand his territory to other parts of the country, or risk forever losing his authority."

Alan Beiler Released From Prison

The season will also address Esther Schmucker's recent assault by ex-boyfriend Imir R. Williams, which left her with a broken cheekbone, nose and several broken teeth. She will reportedly speak out about a "shocking attack and responds to allegations that she is leading a double life."

The show's status was in question when it didn't return in January as initially expected, despite a Christmas episode which saw high ratings. Adding fuel to the fire, one of the show's producers hinted back in December that the series could potentially not return because the cast was beginning to disagree with the crew.

"To be honest, I don't know what's going to happen at the end of the season, because it's kind of starting to turn against the production crew a little bit. So we'll see how that plays out," producer Matt Kelly said.

The return of specific cast members for the third season has also been a point of contention for the show. In an interview about her assault, Schmucker, 27, previously revealed that they had temporarily stalled on filming her scenes as she continued to heal from the assault.

There are also questions on whether or not Alan Beiler will be returning now that he is out of prison. He confirmed on his official Facebook page that he is expecting a daughter this year with his girlfriend, Ashley Rae.

Amish Mafia returns to Discovery on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
